The way homelessness is dealt with in Wales will be changing radically through the introduction of new legislation that will set out the rights of individuals and the role of key organisations in providing housing solutions. Included in the new legislation will be a duty on local authorities to take reasonable steps in addressing representations of homeless, enhanced duties on local authorities and other key stakeholders in finding housing solutions and an increase in the number of days that defines a person as being threatened with homelessness.

Community Housing Cymru has commissioned research to identify areas where greater collaboration can be fostered between registered social landlords in finding housing solutions for homeless individuals. This research is in collaboration with the WLGA and Welsh Government, the report from the study will be available in November and the findings will be presented at CHC's annual conference at the Hilton Hotel on 21st November.
