New CHC Commercial Partners: Introducing E.ON Green Funding Solutions
As part of a series of blogs on Community Housing Cymru’s new commercial partners for 26/27, Business Development Manager for Wales Cerys Williams explains why E.ON Green Funding Solutions chose to form a new partnership with our sector.
Why did you choose to become a CHC commercial partner?
Partnering with CHC as a corporate sponsor will enable us to engage with a wider range of organisations than before. This collaboration will boost awareness of the E.ON Green Funding Solutions, distinguishing it from the general perception of E.ON. Our goal is to cultivate robust, new relationships with members, understanding their specific requirements so we can deliver our solutions and actively assist housing providers in their decarbonisation efforts.
With future skills at the forefront of many agendas, E.ON has the skills and resource to provide training and upskilling to individuals within the housing sector as well as to their residents to ensure a fair and equitable transition to net zero for all.
What services do you offer?
At E.ON, we are pioneers in the UK energy efficiency retrofit market, offering large-scale domestic programmes designed to create warmer, more comfortable, and energy-efficient homes that are cheaper to run.
Our core service involves leading and managing these significant domestic retrofit programmes, working closely with local authorities, housing associations, and government bodies to drive positive change for homes, residents in housing schemes, and the environment.
What contact have you had with the social housing sector so far?
E.ON Green Funding Solutions partners with housing associations and local authorities on large-scale community retrofit projects. We collaborate with local supply chains to install energy efficiency improvements, resulting in warmer, cheaper-to-run homes for residents. In the last 5 years, we've delivered over 28,800 measures across 19,400 vulnerable households.
Social value is central to our retrofit projects. We aim to support residents and foster individual change, with a focus on employment and skills. We empower individuals to gain "green skills" in energy efficiency, renewables, and sustainable technologies, supporting the green economy by creating jobs essential for the transition to affordable, sustainable energy.
How can E.ON support housing associations in Wales?
Wales is brimming with opportunity to collaborate and maximise local area delivery through combining resource. E.ON is an experienced delivery partner for large consortiums and manages a nation wide supply chain that could leverage economies of scale to deliver success across Wales.
With future skills at the forefront of many agendas, E.ON has the skills and resource to provide training and upskilling to individuals within the housing sector as well as to their residents to ensure a fair and equitable transition to net zero for all.
