Introducing Utility Aid as a new commercial partner member

As part of a series of posts on Community Housing Cymru’s new commercial partner members, Kaylea McKenna, housing lead, explains why Utility Aid chose to form a new partnership with our sector.

Why did Utility Aid want to be a CHC commercial partner member, and join up with the Welsh housing association sector?

"We have worked in the housing sector for many years and partnering with Community Housing Cymru (CHC) is a true privilege for us as it gives us the opportunity to learn, create and develop our services ensuring they meet the needs of the Welsh Housing Sector.”

"Utility Aid is the UK's largest energy broker for the not-for-profit sector, and we are delighted to be working with CHC to offer your members access to our expertise. There is nothing special about the energy we sell. In fact, it's exactly the same energy as all our competitors provide.

"But there is something special about the way we do. Our dedicated team provide a high-level service to manage and maintain the supplies for your property portfolio. We can support housing providers with procurement, bureau, account management, void management solutions, historical audits, net zero and carbon reporting."

What benefits can Utility Aid bring to our housing association members and the work that they do?

"We are acutely aware of the challenges the sector is facing with the current cost of living crisis and the energy crisis. Through our partnership with CHC we will be offering webinars and discussion groups to provide tips which will help you identify potential areas of cost recovery and support you in reducing energy consumption and wastage.

"In addition we will be providing our energy guru service, which gives CHC members the opportunity to speak with an industry expert and get free no obligation advice on all things energy. This could involve a member who has a problem with metering, supplier queries, questions around Energy and Trade Intensive Industries (ETII) and Energy Bills Discount Scheme (EBDS), net zero queries or energy reduction queries.

"Everything we do, we do it differently to ensure others can Do More Good."
