House Building Statistics Released (April – June 2017)
Information on the number of new dwellings started, where building has commenced and those completed, covering the period April – June 2017, have been released by the Welsh Government.

The key points include:
The number of new dwellings started increased by 2 per cent during 2016-17 and this increase has continued into the first quarter of 2017-18.
During the April to June 2017 quarter a total of 1,853 new dwellings were started. This is an increase of over a third (37 per cent) on the same quarter of the previous year and the highest number recorded in any April to June quarter since 2008-09.
2,066 new dwellings were completed during April to June 2017, up by over a quarter (27 per cent) on the previous year and, as with starts, the highest number recorded in any April to June quarter since 2008-09.
The number of RSL dwellings completed was up by 56 per cent on the previous year to 450 dwellings which represented 22 per cent of all completions during the quarter.
