The Scottish Federation of Housing Associations (SFHA), in partnership with Altair, has developed the AI Readiness Tool, a digital assessment designed to help organisations evaluate their preparedness for adopting General Artificial Intelligence.

 Built as a SaaS application, it provides a structured, practical starting point for housing associations and other members to understand their current position and plan next steps.

How it works


Users answer 17 quick questions across four key pillars:
 

  1. Appetite & Understanding
     
  2. Usage & Impact
     
  3. Strategy & Governance
     
  4. Data & Systems

 
On completion, the tool generates:
 

  1. A percentage score broken down by pillar
     
  2. An overall readiness level (Novice, Emerging, Advanced)
     
  3. A PDF report for internal discussion with boards or leadership teams
     
  4. Tailored recommendations and actions to improve AI capability
