CHC statement: tenant survey on hazards
This statement was issued on 3rd June 2025
TPAS Cymru has today published their Mini Tenant-Pulse findings on Welsh Government’s proposed changes to the Welsh Housing Quality Standards, which include new requirements for how social landlords must respond to hazard reports.
In response, Hayley Macnamara, Policy Lead at Community Housing Cymru said:
“Housing associations are fully committed to providing high-quality homes and meeting the high standards set by the Welsh Government.
Housing associations are proactively improving their repair and complaint handling processes, implementing approaches that work best for their communities.
We welcome the valuable insights from the TPAS mini pulse report. Tenant feedback, combined with feedback from housing associations, are informing our response to the Welsh Government consultation. We’re committed to working together to develop a new requirement that delivers greater transparency, consistency, and supports the delivery of effective landlord services.
If anyone living in a housing association home has a damp or mould problem, or any other disrepair issue, we encourage them to speak with their landlord as a priority. They have dedicated teams in place to resolve problems and ensure homes are safe and comfortable.”
