Cabinet Secretary announces additional funding for Innovative Housing Programme
Carl Sargeant, Cabinet Secretary for Communities and Children, has today announced further information on the Innovative Housing Programme launched in February. Initially funded by £10m per year over the next 2 years, the fund has been increased to nearly £19m for this year because of the quality schemes that have come forward. This will not affect the amount of money available in later years.
Clarissa Corbisiero-Peters, CHC's Deputy Chief Executive, said: “The additional £9m funding to support innovative housing this year is a further vote of confidence for housing associations. The schemes approved today show that housing associations have the drive and imagination to build the homes Wales needs. Out of the 22 projects, 15 housing association schemes have been approved for funding, showing housing associations' eagerness to think differently and to innovate.”
