CHC Regulating Heat Networks Workshop
Free
From 2025 all communal and district heating schemes (heat networks) will be regulated in line with gas and electricity suppliers, bringing in a wide range of new requirements around scheme performance, data, financial and management reporting and customer service.
The Department of Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) and Ofgem are currently consulting on the consumer protection elements of the new regulations: Community Housing Cymru see this as a critical opportunity to ensure that the voice of our members is heard and to make sure that the regulations work for our sector.
To help us gather your views and write our response, we’ll be working with Chirpy Heat who are specialists in this policy area. Building on the Ofgem webinar we hosted on 16th December, we are co-hosting a workshop with Chirpy Heat on Wednesday 8th January from 1-4pm to discuss the impact of the regulations on our members and to help shape our view on some of the consultations’ key questions.
We’re keen for as many of our members to be represented as possible: the regulations will impact not only your sustainability and asset management teams, but also customer communications, finance, complaints, service charges, development… in fact it will touch nearly every aspect of your operations. A full agenda will follow shortly, but do please hold the date in your diaries and share with your colleagues.
