Hugh Barrett

Board member

Hugh originally trained as a physicist, then spent the first half of his career in technology companies in commercial and general management roles in the UK and Europe.

He then became a UK senior civil servant in 2000, undertaking a number of senior roles in the Treasury, Department for Communities and Ministry of Justice. These included being chief executive of the Government Central Procurement Agency.

He has extensive non-executive board experience in the education, government and charitable sectors. Since leaving the civil service he has conducted consulting assignments in the UK, Europe and the Middle East.

He lives in Bristol, is a keen cricket supporter and an equally keen, although inexpert, golfer.
