The Accelerator speeds in to Wales
The Young Foundation bringing its leading investment readiness programme to Wales
The nine ventures to receive support from this prestigious programme will be formally announced at a showcase evening event on 17 October 2013 at the Wales Millennium Centre. Guests at the launch event include famous faces, entrepreneurs, funders and support agencies from across Wales. The successful nine participants will be announced by ones of Wales’ most successful and award winning social entrepreneurs, Kelly Davies, founder of Vi-ability.
The event will be a great opportunity for social ventures, funders, philanthropists, investors and social campaigners to join the participants as they start their journey on the first pan-Wales accelerator programme for investment readiness support.
The winning social ventures have been drawn from applications from across Wales. Each organisation will receive intensive business support over the next four months, working to develop and shape their business models, enabling them to become ‘investment ready’ and able to access appropriate financial support for their strategic direction.

1. ABCD Cymru is a unique charity working with Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) disabled and terminally ill children and young people. http://www.abcdcymru.org.uk/
2. Street Football Wales is there for people when they have reached their lowest ebb. It offers people the opportunity to become involved with a team where they will not be judged or stigmatised.
3. LLamau is Wales’ leading homelessness charity. They work with vulnerable, socially excluded young people and women to help them develop the skills they need to turn their lives around. http://www.llamau.org.uk/
4. Decluttering programme from Bron Afon Community Housing - a social enterprise based in Torfaen South Wales. http://www.bronafon.org.uk/
5. Grow Enterprise Wales from RCT Homes is an award-winning social enterprise that aims to move people closer to the workplace by offering real work experience in real jobs. http://www.grewcorporate.org.uk/

7. Swansea City FC Community Trust creates positive social impact with limited resources through using the brand of the club to engage with partners in delivering community activities. http://www.swanseacity.net/
