CHC's response to BRE whole system test results

Clarissa Corbisiero-Peters, Deputy CEO of Community Housing Cymru, the membership body for Housing Associations in Wales said:

“We are disappointed to learn the latest results of the whole system test in light of the Grenfell Tower fire.

The safety of tenants has always, and will continue to be a priority for Housing Associations in Wales.

We have been in close contact with Newport City Homes whose focus is on making sure that residents are safe and feel reassured. They have a clear plan in place which is in line with recent guidance issued by the UK Government’s Expert panel and the DCLG.

Community Housing Cymru is represented on the Welsh Government’s Fire Advisory Group, established to consider the wider implications emerging from the Grenfell Tower disaster and subsequent inquiry and investigation. We will continue to work closely with the Welsh Government to ensure that our members know the full picture regarding fire safety, in turn, making sure that tenants are kept informed, involved and reassured throughout.”
