CHC raises concerns over Social Services & Wellbeing (Wales) Bill
Community Housing Cymru along with Cymorth Cymru, TPAS Cymru, CIH Cymru, Care & Repair Cymru and Tai Pawb have jointly raised concerns regarding the understanding of housing within the Social Services & Wellbeing Wales Bill. These concerns include the links between housing, independent living and the definition of wellbeing; charging for information and advice services; the repeal of the Chronically Sick and Disabled Persons Act 1970 and a specific section to exempt the provision of housing as a means to meet a person’s need.
Matt Kennedy (Policy Officer: Care, Support & Community Health) commented: 'Having written to Gwenda Thomas AM and highlighted our concerns to Assembly Members, we hope that our collective voice will be well considered and that our concerns regarding the role of housing within the Social Services & Well-being (Wales) Bill are appropriately addressed.'
The debate on Stage 1 of the Bill will take place on Tuesday 8 October.
