The project began with a simple idea:

Pick a place and start a conversation.

Rather than beginning with a fixed service model or funded intervention, partners started by listening to residents in Trelewis, Penrhys and Blackmill. Each community told a different story, but common themes emerged: pride in place, strong family and neighbour networks, lost community spaces, reduced opportunities to connect, and a desire for more local activity shaped by residents themselves.

What CHC members will take away

The webinar and workshop will explore:

  • how tenant engagement can move beyond consultation into relationship-building
  • why community assets matter for wellbeing
  • how listening differently changes what organisations do
  • how housing associations can act as population health partners
  • what it takes to support resident-led action
  • why methods of working travel better than fixed models
