Who is this for?

People who have just joined a Board, or those who have been Board members for less than 12 months and want to increase their understanding of the fundamentals of Housing Associations and good governance.

Why should you attend?

It will help new Board members identify and examine all the challenges facing Housing Associations in Wales. It provides the opportunity to help them develop their knowledge and understanding of the skills they need to apply in order to be the most effective in their new role.

Participants will have an opportunity to network with other new board members from their own and/or other organisations.

Course overview

As a result of attending this training participants will gain:

  • A greater knowledge of the operating and regulatory environment for Housing Associations in Wales, enabling delegates to contribute effectively to supporting their organisation’s aims and ambitions
  • An understanding of the fundamental roles and responsibilities of Board members so that they will be better able to fulfil their duties in the best interests of the organisation
  • An insight into how to apply their skills, knowledge and experience well so that they will be able to confidently and constructively provide strategic leadership
