Who is this for?
Staff and Committee Members who have recently joined a housing association and/or people from other organisations who wish to have an understanding of how housing associations work. This is a basic course and assumes little prior knowledge of Housing Associations.
Why should you attend?
Staff or committee members who have recently joined a housing association can find the wide range of policies, regulations and jargon a minefield. This course will help to simplify the role of and activities carried out by housing associations, as well as de-mystifying some of the jargon.
Course overview:
This course aims to provide participants with a wider understanding of the role housing associations play in providing social housing in Wales.
By the end of the course participants will have:
- Examined the importance of involving tenants in the provision of social housing
- Identified the key financial and legal issues facing housing associations
- Discussed the history and governance of housing associations
