Housing associations continue to be under huge pressures to tackle the acute shortage of social housing, with Wales’ social housing waiting lists increasing by 40% in the last 4 years.

The prison population is also increasing, and employment opportunities for ex-offenders, which is proven to reduce reoffending, are scarce.

The Prisoners Building Homes (PBH) Programme brings together public and private sector partners to unlock land to deliver affordable, high-quality, low carbon, sustainable modular homes nationally while creating job opportunities for serving prisoners and prison leavers to enable them to turn their lives around and reduce the cycle of reoffending.

In this session, programme delivery manager Sophie Baker will discuss how the programme operates, from inception through to delivery.

Zed Pods and Dragonheart Homes, two of the housebuilders under the programme, will then share details of a scheme they have delivered in Newport for Linc Housing Association.

Join us for this spotlight session to explore how your housing association can get involved in the programme.
