Spotlight Session: Social Partnership & Public Procurement

September 7, 2022 @ 10:00am 1 hour Online

Dr Sue Hurrell is Head of Fair Work procurement at Welsh Government, and is working on the Socially Responsible Procurement Duty in the Social Partnership and Public Procurement Bill, which has been introduced to the Senedd.

The aims of the legislation are to ensure that social, environmental, economic and cultural outcomes are sought through public procurement and contract management.

These duties will not apply directly to RSLs at this time; they are not in the list of bodies to be included. However the Welsh Government will be providing guidance and support to all organisations that wish to engage.

This session will explain what is in the legislation, how this fits alongside other relevant legislation and how RSLs can get involved.
