Community Housing Cymru
As the umbrella body for housing associations in Wales, we are proud to represent our members who provide homes and services to 10% of the Welsh population.
Last year, our members contributed over £1bn to the economy, built nearly 2,000 affordable homes and provided jobs to 8,800 people across Wales.
Our members are part of arguably the most successful public, private and third sector partnership in the UK. They are independent, not-for-profit organisations who not only strive to deliver affordable housing to meet demand but who invest in communities and change lives.
Our job is to ensure that the sector continues to prosper in Wales and is equipped for the future.
Over the next three years we will continue to provide a unified voice for the sector, advocating and negotiating on their behalf. We will influence and lobby on issues that are important to the sector. We will keep up to date and understand trends to help members adapt to a changing world. We will investigate new business models to ensure that the sector remains fit for purpose.
We will continue to work on behalf of members to influence, connect, support and inform so that they can continue to invest in communities and change lives.
To positively influence Welsh Government policy.
To support and promote the work of our members.
To speak with one voice.
To put members at the heart of everything we do.
To work as one team to deliver our mission.
By 2019 we will be regarded by members as an invaluable and highly effective umbrella body. We will continue to promote the diversity of our membership and will have helped shape the external environment to enable them to prosper.
We will be the go-to organisation on housing issues in Wales, the partner of choice for stakeholders, and recognised and valued by Welsh Government as a sector that delivers.
Our work over the next three years will fall under four strategic themes:
Supporting members to be resilient businesses.
Enabling the delivery of more quality and truly affordable homes.
Supporting members to build sustainable communities where people want to live.
Running a great member organisation.
By 2019, by focusing on these priorities and achieving our aim, the sector will be delivering more homes in Wales, supporting more communities and people, managing risks, and will have a clear vision for the future.
Decision makers recognise and value the sector. We are considered key economic drivers in the Welsh economy, recognised as regeneration agents and considered as a partner of choice for stakeholders.
