A Commitment to Staff Learning and Development.

2% of our turnover is allocated to training and development. CHC made a commitment to Investors in People and we were awarded the presitigious Gold Standard in June 2010.

Staff Involvement in Decision-Making Processes.

Staff are involved in informing the Business Plan and priorities for the year ahead, and a number of cross-team working groups are in place for a variety of projects throughout the year.

Working Week

We operate a 35 hour working week, subject to the provisions of our flexible working arrangements to suit the services we provide.

Work-life Balance

CHC have worked with Chwarae Teg and staff to develop a range of flexible working arrangements to allow staff to be able to successfully blend a work-life balance. We offer a range of options including part-time, compressed hours, flexi-time and adhoc home working.

Health and Well Being

We provide a safe and healthy working environment.  We offer subsidised gym membership and run a company paid healthcare plan for all staff to help pay for everyday healthcare including dentist,optician and physiotherapy costs.  The scheme also offers a free 24 hour confidential helpline and counselling sessions.

Holidays

A minimum of 25 days leave per year that increases with service to a maximum of 30 days, plus 8 bank holidays and 4 extra concessionary days.

Induction and Performance Development Reviews

New staff benefit from a tailored, comprehensive induction programme.

All staff receive an annual Performance Development Review where their progress and achievements throughout the year are discussed along with an evaluation of past training and development activities, and this review also serves to determine future work objectives and training and development opportunities.

Pension Scheme

Staff are eligible to join the Social Housing Pension Scheme from day one of employment - This is a final salary scheme which is a rare and valuable benefit in today's pensions climate.

What is the best thing about working at CHC?

I enjoy working with such a great group of people.

The best thing is definitely the flexi time and the left over buffet we sometimes get after training courses!
