What’s your name?
Hayley Macnamara (soon to be Hayley Eastment!)
Where do you work and what do you do?
I am a part-time Policy and External Affairs Manager and I am currently working on Value for Money, Planning and CHC’s brand new Housing Futures programmes.
Why did you choose a career in housing?
I actually fell into housing after struggling to find a job in town planning during the recession. I started working in a local authority housing projects team before moving to CHC to take up the post ‘Regeneration Officer’ in January 2013.
What is the most important thing you have you learned since starting your career in housing?
Experience comes with time.
Where would you be working, if not in housing?
I would probably be doing something completely unrelated like floristry or make up artistry!
What’s your favourite part of the job?
Every day is different.
What motivates you?
Holidays. We have 7 booked already this year!
How do you relax after work?
Spending time with my son, playing and watching Cbeebies! We’re huge Hey Duggee fans!
What’s your greatest achievement?
My son, Theo. I am really lucky that he is alive and he is the best thing that has ever happened to me.
Your most embarrassing moment?
Being locked into a small restaurant toilet in Ibiza and then being rescued from the small square window I tried to crawl out of to escape but got stuck half way through! I had to shout at a passer-by who then alerted my friends and the restaurant to push me through.
What was your last holiday destination and what did you think of it?
We went to Bluestone just before Christmas and it was lovely and Christmassy. If I went back I would return in the warmer months so that we could make the most of the lovely walks and the Serendome!
